Terms & Conditions of Tuition

·         Tuition is weekly & during Hampshire county school term time only

·         Music Fees are payable half termly in advance on invoice

·         Parents/Students will be invoiced the last week of each half term

·         Music Fees are due on or by the 1^st week of each new half term

·         The cost of all music is to be met by the pupil/parent

·         The cost of examination entry is to be met by the pupil/parent

·         Travel to/from examination centre to be met by the pupil/parent

·         Students own guitar repairs are to be met by the pupil/parent

·         Re-stringing of your guitar is the responsibility of the pupil/parent

·         Either party may discontinue lessons minimum of 2 weeks notice

·         Parents to oversee adequate practise at home, at least 30 mins daily

·         Students to achieve all weekly & personal targets set by Mrs Feary

·         Parents to oversee at home, that targets are met

·         Students must not attend lessons ill whatsoever & should rebook

·         Please bring music books & practise records to each and every lesson

·         Students music/books that are torn, defaced, bearing graffiti, bearing loose pages, or damaged will not be used for teaching purposes and must be replaced or repaired without delay.  (Excluding: notes/performance directions written on by Mrs Feary; stapled/clipped on practise record sheets; student awards/stickers)

·         Parents/Students understand that Mrs Feary cannot always rebook* lessons due to a full schedule, no guarantee of this is made

·         Practical Tuition is offered up to Grade 5 Associated Board Level only

Lesson Cancellations (by the pupil/parent) due to:
Illness - The missed lesson must either be re-booked* or paid for.
Holiday - Payment expected for missed lessons.
Other -  Payment expected for missed lessons.

Lesson Cancellations (Catherine Feary) due to:
Illness - The missed lesson will be rebooked* or refunded.
Holiday - The missed lesson will be rebooked* or refunded.
Other -  The missed lesson will be rebooked* or refunded.

Rebookings *
Lessons take place evenings up until 7.30pm and stop at that time.  All 30 minute lesson slots are filled up until that time and a re-booking can only physically be made if another student cancels or if a slot becomes vacant.  Usually only 1 alternative day/time will be offered (if any) when being rebooked and Mrs Feary can only offer space and time if it is actually available!  If a 7pm slot is offered to you,  yet you feel it is far too late for your child, please understand that you are being offered a cancellation slot and an earlier time would be offered if it was available– if it’s not available it can’t be made available by throwing someone out of their regular weekly space.  

Tuition will be discontinued permanently by Mrs Feary for any of the following:

1.        Regularly late music fees.                        

2.       Persistant non practise at home.              

3.       Students regularly forgetting to bring their music sheets/books and/or guitar.

4.       Students regularly ignoring set targets.

5.       Inappropriate behaviour/attitude in lesson by student.

6.       Poor timekeeping, on a regular basis by the student.

Continuance of tuition is held to be acceptance of the above conditions
